Library and Information Systems In this volume of papers brought out in honour of Prof. S. Parthasarathy, (Prof.S.P.) the editors have put together invited papers form information professionals and friends, admirers of Prof. S.P. The papers present the authors' views and comments on Library and Information Systems and Services, social Networking, Intellectual Property Right, Right to Information, Human Resources Development, Bibliometrics, and appreciations of the qualities of head ad heard.
The paper in the first section discuss the history of Prof. S.P. of the new Library of Alexandria, knowledge economy in India; and national information systems in Iran. The second section focuses on AGRIS search system, corporate information system in the knowledge society era, and the importance of archives and archival collection development. The third section deals with mobile phones, Wimax, Web 2.0 and You Tube in social networking. The fourth section includes ad paper each on intellectual property rights and Right to Information Act. Three papers on human resources development are included in the fifth section. There is one paper on bibliometrics section six. The section seven give biographical sketches of Prof. S.P. and appreciations of his humane qualities by his friends and admirers. Multi-lingual thesauri, Classified Catalogue Code of Dr. S.P.
