Indian Library and Information Science Literature 1992-93

It is a classified biblographical work of Indian library and information science literature published during 1992-93. It is an attempt at bibliograpical control of library and information science publications in nglish language published in India, there by excludes those in other Indian languages. The bibliographical guide includes more than 2,000 citions all of which are provided with descriptive abstracts. It includes citations from professional as well as other journals, edited books, festschrift volumes, books, seminar and conference papers and proceedings. It also covers contributions by Indian authors published in foreign books and journals and that of foreign authors in Indian publications. The citations are prepared according to well recognised national and international parctices being followed for bibliographical compilations. The abbreviations used for journals are also standardised. The citations are clssified according to the 20th edition of Dewey decimal Classification system with extended schedules at various places. For the easy retrieval of citations subject and author Indexes provided at the end refer to the citation number in the main body. It is divided into five Parts: Part I includes citations on computers, etc; part II is the main including citations on LIS; Part III covers other lelated subjects; and Part IV has a brief suppement; and Part VincludesIndexes. It is thus not only a useful guide for students and teachers but also an indispensable source of information for those who want to conduct literature survey in any branch of library and information science
