Ranganathan Centre for Information Studies (RCIS) was established kin Madras in July 1993 by a group of eminent persons and senior professionals as the culmination of many programmes and activities organised in India and abroad to celebrate the birth centenary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan . The objectives of RCIS are the promotion of education, training, research, advisory service and , project design and implementation in information studies, informatics, and telematics, and the dissemination of research results.
