Ethical issue in teaching, learning and  research is a recent and hot issue among academic community, especially after the advent of ICT revolution. In fact ethical violation has been prevailing since years in the form of copying from conventional resources such as books, periodicals and theses. It was not easy to detect this misconduct. After the advent of ICT revolution, it has become very easy to copy and re-use any resource. At the same time it is also easy to detect this misconduct with the help of various software packages. There is a misbelief not only among common people, but even among academic people that, internet is a free space where anything can be uploaded and anything can be downloaded. In fact there are some ethical issues in handling internet especially copyright and plagiarism issues.

Authorities have taken ethical issues in this field seriously. UGC, the biggest body of higher education in India has taken the issue of plagiarism seriously. UGC has been providing free software for checking plagiarism to all universities in the country and provided for disciplinary actions on such violations. This is book is definitely one which can give awareness regarding plagiarism. In addition to plagiarism some other very important areas such as open access information resources, citation styles, research metrics and open publishing have also been included in the book. The awareness about plagiarism is not to be confined among researchers but among whole academic community. With that optimism we submit this work to the academic world.
