The book is designed to understand university administration. It also explains design and development of management Information System (MIS) for university administration. After considering the organizational structure and flow of information with in the university and its affiliated colleges, a model of MIS has been designed. Considering less manpower and due to globalization, competition from foreign universities in India, use of IT tools in university administration is becoming priority task for all university. This explains how management Information System is more suitable for university administration for day to day management of its various activities and to achieve its common foals in stipulated time. the authors have studied all the areas of working of university administration and also prove via comparison with manual working of same job and after computerization of same job and after computerization of same activity.

R. V. Kulkarni is professor and head, Department of Statistics and Quantitative Techniques at Chatrapatti Shahu Institute of Business Education and Research (SIBER) , Kolhapur, Maharashtra. He was awarded M. Sc. from Karnataka University and Ph. D. from Shivaji University, Kolhapur in 1990 for his work in Quantitative Techniques and Simulation. He has successfully guided many students for M. Phil. and Ph. D. Degree in Computer Management, Computer Applications. He has published many articles in National and International Journals. Dr. Kulkarni is also providing consultancy for computerization in co-operative bands, sugar factories and milk co-operatives. His research work includes MIS, Expert Systems , Simulation,Data Mining and Operations Research . M. J. Joshi is a Systems programmer in Computer Center of the Shivaji University, Kolhapur. He is a post graduate in Commerce and Computer Management .
Dr. M.J. Joshi has worked on Design and Development of Management Information System (MIS) for University Administration. Dr. Mr. Joshi was awarded Ph. D. degree in October 202. He has published articles in many national journals. His research interest includes Management Information System (MIS) and System Development. He is having working experience of twenty years in University environment.
