Dr. Umesh Chandra Sharma obtained the degree of M. Com., M. Lib. I Sc. and
Ph. D. (Lib. Sc. ) from Rajasthan University, Jaipur (India) .During his student
life and professional carrier he devoted his time and energy in study, teaching
and research. He taught Library and Information Science at the Bundelkhand
University, Jhansi and thereafter joined Agra University on the faculty of the
Department of Library Science and Manuscriptology in 1987, Where he also headed
the Department for some time. He is member of various professional bodies, such
as, ILA, IASLIC, UPLA and AGLIS. He is also associated with academic programmes
of many universities. His two books namely (i) The Information: Measuring
Library Cost Effectiveness, and (ii) Netting Objective Tests in Library and
Information Science (both, published by Ess Ess Publication), have become very
popular and have earned wide aclaim to him. He has also been associated with
IGNOU in the reconstruction of syllabi of Library and Information Science
courses.




Dr. M. R. Rawtani is working as Sr. Assistant Professor of Library and Information Science at Rajasthan University, Jaipur. He joined the Department of Library and Information Science, Rajasthan University in 1986, before which he worked as the Assistant Librarian in the same university,and prior to this, as Librarian at Ayurvedic Institute, Jaipur. He is an active member of ILA, IASLIC, RLA , and other professional associations and organisations. Besides teaching Library science at B. L. I. Sc. and M. L. I. Sc. level, he has also been guiding research students, as Research Supervisor for Doctoral Degrees. He has at his credit, a very popular book on Dewey Decimal Classification, co-authored with Dr. S. P. Sood, and has contributed about a dozen of papers in different journals.
