Terminologies is defined as the vocabulary of specialized technical terms used in a particular study, theory, profession, field, subject, etc. This book is primarily a glossary of Library Science and Information Technology terms. The terms associated with these subjects have, therefore, been selected. Dr. Gurdev Singh is a Post Graduate in Economics and got his Doctorate in Library and Information Science from University of Delhi. He is in Library profession for the last 29 years. At present he is working as Chief Librarian (Associate Prof. Grade) at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, University of Delhi. He has published several research papers on different aspects of Library and Information Science in national and International journals of repute. He attended number of national and international seminars/workshops. He was selected as one of the participants from SAARC countries in a training programme on computer applications in Libraries/Documentation/Information Activities organize by SAARC Documentation Centre, New Delhi. One of his articles entitled “Use of Libraries by faculty members of University of Delhi” was well appreciated by library professionals of Gujarat and also the same is translated into Gujarati by them for their use. He has attended several orientation and refresher courses in the field of library and information science organized by various universities from time to time. Several students have completed MPhil, PhDs, PGDLAN and other courses related to Library and Information Science under his guidance. He has six books to his credit. He is a Life member of Indian Library Association and Delhi Library Association.
Dr. Monika Sharma is a post graduate in Hindi from University of Delhi. She completed her master degree in library and information science (MLIS) in first division and a doctorate in Library and Information Science from NIMS University, Rajasthan. She is library profession since last 8 years. At present she is a working at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (University of Delhi), Pitam Pura, Delhi. She has published some research papers on different aspects of library and information science in national and international reputed journals.
