Dhyani's Glossarium of Library and Information Science Terms ( English-Hindi) in many ways is a pioneering work which is bsed on author's long experience as teacher and Ph. d. guide in the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. The work would help in fulfilling the vacuum felt by the library and information science community. The Glossarium provides the terms with their full description - their evolution, history, function and use in Hindi language. To Hindi speaking library and information science professionals and academic community this Glossarium would not only help in understanding the various techniques, devices, principles, theories and procedures of all the major areas of the discipline but also to know the correct corresponding term in Hindi.

Dr. (Mrs.) Pushpa Dhyani is a scholar of international repute in her
discipline. She has the distinction of being the first Indian woman Ph. D. in
Library and Information Science. Dr. Dhyani has marked her impact in the
academic field - as a scholar, teacher and research guide. She has been
constantly and relentlessly highlighting the discrepancies and weaknesses of the
various library classification schemes and the predicament of the Indian library
community in their use for proper management of documents. All the works of Dr.
Dhyani are based on the demands and needs of the discipline in general and of
the academic community in particular. The innumerable articles of Dr. Dhyani
published in national and international journals are also an ample testimony of
her innovative and original ideas. This work is yet another indicator of her
