An Introduction to Library Network

All the chapters given in this book include worksheets and checklist to help librarian determine if they need a good library network, how to plan for one and how to install one. An overview of the each chapter of this book is given below.
1. Chapter I "Understanding a small library network", defines library networks from librarian and user perspective. It includes a checklist for determining the need for a library network.
2. Chapter II. "Advantages and Disadvantages of library networked Computers." deals with how a library network can help people work together. The chapter also describes how a library network can complicate computer use. Checklist helps the librarians determine if they are ready for a library network.
3. Chapter III. "Can Librarian Install a library network?" This chapter prepares librarians for the process of installing a library network. This chapter also deals steps for gathering librarian resources in the library process. A checklist helps librarians determine if librarian can install the library network or if librarian need to hire a consultant.
4. Chapter IV. "Library Network Components" expresses the basic building block in a library network. The worksheet in this chapter helps librarian determine what components librarian have to work with
5. Chapter V. "Planning the library network" focuses on a plan for installing the library network. An extensive checklist helps librarians prepare for the first daft of their library network plan

9. Chapter IX. "Working with a library computer consultant" describes a step by step process for finding and dealing wth a consultant. The chapter focuses on an extensive worksheet to help librarian deal with all aspects of hiring and working with a consultant.
