It is in the interest to librarianship to explore the opportunities that advanced technologies have to offer in the academic library space. Librarians and information professionals are bravely facing the task of bringing traditional library tasks, library users and information technologies together in one place. While librarians are bent on adopting new technologies, they, at the same time must learn and master their use, because, these innovations serve as useful tools that create an environment of efficiency, bring about improved library services, ensure satisfaction of users, as well as reveal the excellent ways that libraries are positively impacting their immediate communities. In the 21st Century and beyond, Libraries must retain their values within the academic community, and this is achievable when technologies are taken advantage of.
