                The present work “Information Landscapes : A Scenario” is a festschrift volume in honour of Dr. PSG Kumar on his 71st Birthday.

                A festschrift volume committee has been formed with Dr. K B Kale University Librarian as Chairman and Dr.ShaliniLihitkar, Asstt. Professor, DLIS, RTM Nagpur University as  convener; and several of his students, friends and admirers as members.

                Dr. PSG Kumar — a savant of librarianship; a scintillating star on the library firmament; a diadem of LIS education; a dynamic personality all along needs no introduction. (However a brief note on his life and work is added in the book).

                It would only be fair to say that this work covers latest trends changing landscapes of library & information science.

Dr. (Mrs) Shalini R. Lihitkar  is presently working as Assistant Professor (Sr. Grade) and Head in DLISc, Rastrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. A gold medallist from Nagpur University she has been in LIS Profession Since 2002. She has also worked as Lecturer in DLISc, Shivaji Univeristy, Kolhapur from 2002-2003. She has experience of teaching and guiding for UGC NET/SET, P.O. and other competitive examinations. She has more than 170 papers and seven books to her credit.

                She has completed Information Literacy Project with UNESCO and SALIS as a member. She is  Principal Investigator of UGC- Minor Research Project of DLISc, RTMNU, Nagpur, columnist and member in production committee of “MahitiYug” (Quarterly Journal published by Foundation of Dr. P.S.G. Kumar) 2005-2009. She is Chairperson of the admission committee of DLISc, RTMNU since 2009, Subject Examination Committee member for RRC and also a member of Special Task Committee, Board of Studies in LISc, RTMNU, Nagpur. She has presented papers at international conferences in Malaysia, Thailand, Muscat, Hong Kong and Russia. She has been awarded Best Paper Presentation Award at International Conference in Malaysia.   She has organized three national workshops, one national conference and two UGC-Refresher courses in library and information science. She has also edited 5 national conference proceedings and compiled various course materials for the benefit of LIS professionals as well as for the students.

                She is an Editorial member of interdisciplinary research journal of LIS and KLA Bulletin. She is an expert member in Definitional Glossary of LISc, project of Ministry of Scientific and Technical Terminology, Government of India.   She has been invited as a resource person in orientation courses, refresher courses and seminars at various universities. She is a recognized research supervisor in LIS of RTM,Nagpur University, Nagpur and S.G.B. Amravati University, Amravati. She is a life member of professional associations’ viz. DLA, ILA, IATLIS, IASLIC,DLISAA, SALIS, CGLA and VLA.
