Charles R. McClue is the Francis Eppes Professor of Information Studies and Director of the Information Use Management and Policy Institute at Florida State University www.ii.fsu.edu. McClue has written extensively o topics related to planning and evaluation of Information services, information resources management and Federal Information Policy. He is the co-author (with John Carlo Bertot) of Public Libraries and the Internet 2000, funded and published by the National Commission on Libraries and Information Science (see http://www.nclis.gov) and is currently completing a study funded by the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the Government Printing Office, and the Defense Technical Information Center to produce performance measures that assess Federal Web sites. John Carlo Bertot is Associate Professor in the School of Information studies and Associate Director of the Information Use Management and Policy Institute at Florida State University http://www.ii.fsu.edu Bertot was the co-principal investigator for the National Leadership Grant funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to develop national public library statistics and performance measures for the networked environment that made this manual possible. This effort led to the book Statistics and Performance Measures for Public Library Networked Services, published by the American Library Association. At present, Bertot is co-principal investigator for an IMLS National Leadership Grant to develop a national model for col-lecting public library network statistics and performance measures, as well as an Association of Research Libraries (ARL) project to develop measurement tools for networked services and resources in ARL libraries. Bertot continues to work with public and other libraries to develop, plan, and evaluate network-based services through a variety of projects.
