Each book in this series has been written to provide in -depth knowledge of the basics of Library and Information Science and is in accordance with the B.Lib.Sc. syllabus of major Indian universities imparting the said course. Dr. Anil Kumar Dhiman (born in 1965) holds M. A., M. Sc. M.L.I.Sc.,B.Ed., &;
Ph. d. degrees in Botany beside Post graduate Diploma in Computer Application
(PGDCA). He is a Fellow of Society of Ethno botanists (FES) and fellow of United
Writers' Association (FUWAI). He is also the life member of various professional
associations, viz., ILA (Delhi), IASLIC (Calcutta), IATLIS, UPLA, APSI, IBS and
SEB (Lucknow). At present, he is working in the University Library at Gurukul
Kangri University, Hardwar. He is also rendering his services as an Honorary
Lecturer at Library Science Training Center, Roorkee since 1994 and as Counselor
for Library science at Hardware Chapter of UP Rajrishi Tandon Open University,
Allahabad since 2000.He has over four- dozen papers and six books to his credits
in the field of Library & information science and Botany. He has awarded with
APSI Young scientist Award and Gold Medal for 1999. His name has been included
in various bibliographies of national and international reputations; as in
Reference Asia, Millennium Edition; Biography Today (2001); International
Directory of Intellectuals (to be published from American Organization of
Intellectuals, Inc USA); Biography International (2001) to be published from
south -Asia Publishing Company. Delhi; Asia/Pacific who's Who-IV volume to be
